Straw-work marquetry box, made by a French soldier, c.1809-1815, 1922.1300
Set of Napier's Bones or reckoning tables, in oak case, British, c.1670, 1922.1229
Objects chosen by Joan.

1922.1229 Set of Napier's Bones or reckoning tables.
Very excited today to open up the choice of objects to our participants. Joan's choices were not consciously connected, but were things she was drawn to while browsing the collection - 'I'd like to know the psychology behind me choosing these objects - one was very beautiful, and one was fascinating.'
