A safe space for conversationCollections Chat takes place on the third Thursday of each month from 11am-12.15pm.
These sessions provide a safe space for small groups of people to explore the Platt Hall collection together. Each session takes two objects chosen from the collection as the starting point for shared and individual responses, reflections and experiences. The conversation can go in many directions - we've talked about favourite sweets, how best to eat a mango, make-do-and-mend, and remembered childhood games. See below for some of our previous chats, and the objects that inspired them. The programme started online in May 2020 in partnership with Robert Darbishire GP Practice and Women's Voices, as a way of combating lockdown isolation. Now we are back in the building, we are running them live in the Hall. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Ruth at ruth.edson@manchester.gov.uk. |
