100 Objects from Platt Hall

As part of Manchester Art Gallery, Platt Hall is connected to over 50,000 objects and artworks in the city's collection. Below is just a small selection of things (a little over 100 actually), chosen by staff and participants in the Platt Hall project. All of them relate to aspects of the Hall past and present. Some of them we know a lot about, others very little.

So here is an invitation.

Pick an object - any object - from the selection below. Write something about why you chose it and what it means to you. Or make something, photograph something, do something, in response to your chosen object. It can be a lot or a little. Email your response to elizabeth.mitchell2@manchester.gov.uk, including your name and postcode, and we will add it to the site.

Alternatively, if there is something you have loved seeing at Platt that isn't here - or something from the Gallery's wider collections that you think should be here - tell us what it is, why it matters and we'll add it to the mix. You can search Manchester Art Gallery's collections at https://manchesterartgallery.org/collections/. Or see our Instagram page for more inspiration.
