Thursday 14 JanuarySilk sash, worn by a Turkish railway official in 1871, 1922.2107.
Carved bone fish in a tobacco tin, British, probably 19th century, 1937.149. Objects chosen by Haroon. Today's conversation flowed brilliantly - a real sense of curiosity and shared escapism in the sharing of thoughts and ideas about these intriguing objects with their tiny snippets of suggested story. Haroon explained the reasons for his choice: |
'I chose the scarf because I was drawn to it in previous sessions... this visual idea formed from the description 'Turkish - railway official - uniform'. I was super intrigued by it - you build a world through the object - through the conversations - when there is limited information. And the fish! How have these not been chosen in a session before - they have mystery and intrigue. I really want to touch them.'
