Platt Fields is one of Manchester's largest public parks, a vital green space in the city and never more so than now, during the restrictions imposed by the Coronavirus pandemic. Formerly the estate lands attached to Platt Hall, it's thanks to a campaign by local residents in 1907 that this bit of open space was preserved for everyone to enjoy. You can find out more about the history of Platt Fields on the Rusholme and Victoria Park Archive.
There's a lot going on in Platt Fields today, from the Market Garden to the Bike Hub, and a lively Friends group. We're working together, with support from the University of Manchester, to make the most of this key local resource, and to bring the Hall to life in the park.

Summer trail
The Platt Hall Collections are coming out to play, as 20 objects (well, pictures of objects) are scattered through the park over the summer. Can you find them all?
