Charm made from spherical glass.

When they were first given to Manchester Art Gallery in 1922, these glass balls were described as 'charms put into the water which cattle drink to make the animals more prolific'. 



Is that what they are? 



At our Collections chat on 13 May 2021 a few further suggestions were offered, from a door handle to a marble to a worry stone.
